The Gallops

The Gallops is a collection of 10 self-catering cottages arranged around a communal courtyard garden and all named after famous horses. Originally a Victorian dairy barn now converted into three dog friendly, two-bedroom cottages (Big Bucks, Frankel and Red Rum) it was joined by our seven newest cottages built in 2017 which have solar panels and benefit from a rainwater harvesting system. All of the cottages have Freeview TV and WiFi and benefit from a shared double electric car charging point (accessible via the Project EV Pro app) children’s play park and dog exercise area (April – October) where dogs can run freely off the lead. 

Three of the newer units (Pegasus, Seabiscuit, Marengo) are accessible with a downstairs bedroom and wet-room suitable for wheelchair users and those with mobility issues, Pegasus was rated M3i (suitable for an independent wheelchair traveller). For guests wishing to bring their four-legged friends there are two further dog-friendly cottages Pegasus and Valegro. 

There is ample guest parking in the main car park just a few yards away with a drop off area close to the cottages and spaces for two cars for blue badge holders. Our eco-friendly site utilises a bacteria led sewage treatment system so we decided on a communal laundry area for guests where we supply the bio friendly detergent. (Please note if you prefer a non-bio detergent this cannot be used)
