We are looking for 10 learners to study Level 1 Diploma in Horse Care and Riding, in partnership with the HTP Apprenticeship College.
If you are aged between 16-18 and have a passion for horses, this exciting opportunity could be for you. This full-time course focuses on the principles and practices of horse care and management in a work-based setting and is ideal for anyone looking to start a career. You don’t need any previous qualifications or experience to get started and, if required, you’ll have the chance to gain Maths + English qualifications.
What is Level 1 Diploma in Horse Care and Riding?
The Level 1 Diploma in Horse Care and Riding is suitable to those entering the equine industry and have limited previous experience. It is a work-related, competence-based qualification, and is designed for someone who wishes to progress into work. It reflects the skills and knowledge needed to do assist with routine jobs effectively. The qualification will allow you to gain the required skills and knowledge needed to work in a Horse-related business, such as a Riding Stables, Equestrian Centre, Trekking centre or a similar job.
At Island Riding Centre, you will develop the skills and knowledge through a combination of classroom based lessons and real practical work experience.
How could I progress?
This qualification could lead to jobs such as:
- Stable Hand
- Yard Worker
- Assistant Groom
- Assistant Trekking centre worker
You could progress to a Level 2 Apprenticeship
